Simphony is a modular lighting system designed for FontanaArte. Much like the first light of dawn, it fills the space with a quiet, diffused glow. An internal ring reflects the LED light against the inside of the shade, creating a soft, indirect illumination that brings calm and balance to the room.
The project started from a desire to design more than just an object – I wanted to build a system. Simphony consists of a technical heart with a circular LED and integrated driver, adaptable to various materials and compositions. From handblown glass and ceramics to finely textured aluminium, each version offers its own tactile and visual experience. The system can be configured as a ceiling light or a pendant, single or multi-piece, and adapts flexibly to different spaces.
Inspired by the serene architecture of Dom Hans van der Laan, Simphony reflects the pursuit of simplicity, proportion and calm. The cables aren’t just structural – they shape the geometry of the piece, creating rhythm and stability. Every component plays its role without taking center stage.
